County Seeks Feedback on New Housing Funding Opportunity

Dec 13, 2021

HOME Consortium Member Jurisdictions,

I’m reaching out because we have begun our public consultation process for our HOME American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding.  Our HOME Consortium of Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties has been awarded $3.59 million in HOME ARP funding, which is available to provide housing, services, and shelter to individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations.  Gathering feedback from community stakeholders will be an essential part of developing a HOME-ARP Allocation Plan. To support this process, Skagit County will be hosting information sessions about the program in December 2021 and January 2022. Information session dates and registration links are below.

Please let me know if there are other ways it would be helpful to engage with your communities about this topic.  We are available to meet with staff and policymakers from your jurisdictions or other groups that would be important to engage.

Upcoming Information Sessions (each session will cover the same information):

Community members are also invited to view a PowerPoint presentation linked below outlining eligible HOME-ARP activities and target populations, and then provide feedback via the HOME-ARP survey.

Stakeholders and community members can also provide input or request consultation directly by contacting us: George Kosovich, GeorgeK@co.skagit.wa.us, (360) 416-1547 or Shelley Kjos, ShelleyK@co.skagit.wa.us, (360) 416-1513.

Thank you,
