Skagit County has contracted with Larry Brown Construction, Inc. to construct the Cook Road Pedestrian Improvements Project. This contract provides for the construction of a mid-block pedestrian crossing on Cook Road, in the proximity of Janicki Playfields in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 31st, 2022, and continue approximately 2 weeks thereafter.

Work will include:

  • ADA Compliant pedestrian curb ramps
  • Installation of push button activated pedestrian crossing signs with high intensity rapid flashing beacons
  • Construction of a raised concrete refuge island
  • Retroreflective crosswalk markings
  • Improved street lighting, and other work.

During the duration of this project, motorists may experience some traffic delays. However, lane closures will not occur during peak traffic hours. We ask that you kindly do you part to keep the construction workers, yourself, and others safe.
