Updates Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The City of Sedro-Woolley has been closely tracking the quickly evolving situation surrounding the Coronavirus or COVID-19. We continue to follow the guidance of the Skagit County and the Centers for Disease Control. We understand the important role that the City of Sedro-Woolley plays in helping to keep our community members safe.

Skagit County Public Health is your primary source of information for COVID-19 (coronavirus). Please visit their website for the latest information:

https://www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/HealthDiseases/coronavirus.htm

MASKS ARE CURRENTLY OPTIONAL FOR ALL ENTERING CITY FACILITIES

In an effort to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus and promote public health, masks may be worn at City facilities where social distancing is not possible.

The following are additional measures we have taken:

  • All City parks and public restrooms are open at this time.
  • All City Council and Planning Commission Meetings will be held with a virtual option for participating with the free Zoom web meeting application. Meeting details can be found on the Council Meetings and Planning Commission Meetings pages.
  • Although our offices are now open to the public, we encourage alternate options for payment and service.
    • You can pay your bill over the phone by calling 360-855-1661, you can pay online through our Bill Pay page, or you can drop off a payment to our Utility Drop Box outside of City Hall.
    • Many facilities can now be reserved online from our Facilities & Reservations
    • Applicants may submit permit applications in person, electronically or by mail. To apply for a building or land use permit, please email Nicole McGowan at nmcgowan@sedro-woolley.gov to receive full details on how to apply.

HOW YOU CAN HELP SLOW THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS:

  • Do not go to the emergency room unless essential. Emergency rooms need to be able to serve those with the most critical needs. If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems, contact your regular doctor first.
  • Stay home and self-quarantine when sick.
  • Practice excellent personal hygiene habits, including handwashing, coughing into tissue or elbow, avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth; do not shake hands.
  • Stay away from people who are ill, especially if you are 60 and older or have underlying health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, or a weakened immune system.

RESOURCES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES:

The Small Business Administration has issued some guidance for businesses and employers to plan and respond to the coronavirus. Click here for access to information on SBA products and resources. The SBA also recently announced low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to Washington state small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the coronavirus. Please find information on this program at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/Declarations.
